How to add new Products
Assuming you are on the Eomm back-end system, locate "Products" option under "PIM" menu tab. The following screen contents should look as below.
The offered options are to ADD, DELETE, MASS UPDATE and FILTER.
Product filtering is included with search bar, which filters results by "Name", "Brand", "Family name", "Code". (prefix, suffix, infix). FILTER button opens prompt which searches products based on either tags and/or brands.
By clicking "Add" button, editing page opens up. User is required to input five mandatory paramters being : "Internal title", "Code", "Main category", "Brand" and "Family name". Confirm the creation by clicking "Save and continue" button.
Products can contain various properties, which are added by entering data in tabs alongside "General". Explanation for each and every property follows below.
"Images" tab allows uploading images to be shown as a product review on live site, meaning the more images are uploaded, the more review images are included as a product review.
If the same product is available in multiple colors, "Price by color" allows to modify price of the same product differently, based on the color and size.
"Other categories" tab allows user to add additional categories to a product, so that the product can be found under multiple categories at once.
If the same product is available in multiple colors, "Colors" allows to add multiple color variations of the same product. Add the color by clicking "Add" button. Event spawns an empty input box, where user types color name, where colors are added via autocomplete prompt. Confirm the additions by saving.
"Sizes" tab allows to add unique product sizes if it is available. Once again, "Add" button spawns an event, which through autocomplete, adds proper size.
"Tags" tab allows to add unique tags, under which the product can be found by searching tags on live site. Add a tag by clicking on the input field which serves as an autocomplete. Confirm the selection by saving.
"Color split" tab allows the separate display of product color. Color split is performed with following steps :
- Go to the product for which you want each color to be displayed separately.
- Go to the "Split Color" tab.
- Check the "Enable Split Colors" checkbox and click the "Save" button
Confirm the selection by saving.
"SKU" tab allows the generation of unique SKU code, EAN code and External code for every product variation available. Click on "+" symbol to add empty input fields. Select product color, available size, corresponding SKU code, EAN code and external code. Check the "Active" checkbox to set its status to live, otherwise the entry serves as a draft. Confirm the selection by saving. Delete the unwanted entry by clicking "Trash" symbol on the far right of the table.
"Price history" tab logs every change in product's price history. To show logs, please select localization and color of product, following with "Show" button. Event spawns a table, providing the information about every change in price.
"Manual stock" tab displays stock quantity of product by size. Select warehouse location beforehand. Event spawns a table with SKU code, Color, Size and Stock entries.
Language initials tabs such as "GB", "GR" provide the ability to add and edit a description for product on live site. Provide "Name", "Regular price", optional "Discount price", "Tax". HTML editor allows forming a structure for product description. Following content is displayed to its respective site. "Copy to lang" allows fast copy of current content of language to another language, where AI can be used to translate into chosen language. Confirm selection by saving.
